GOALPARA: A team from the Goalpara Police, led by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Matia PS, apprehended an individual at Nandeswar under the Matia Police Station area in Assam on January 28, 2025. The police recovered 940 Tapentadol tablets, along with 100 Tapdol tablets weighing a total of 420 grams, from the suspect’s possession. Legal action has been initiated in connection with the recovery.

Earlier, in a major operation, the West Guwahati Police Department (WGPD) team from Fatasil Ambari PS arrested 2 persons at BR Path in Dhirenpara. The arrested individuals were identified as Ajonto Dutta & Suman Kumar Mallick, both from Fatasil Ambari.

The police authorities found 14 strips of SAMPFX tablets, 17 strips of Nitrazepam tablets, 1 mobile phone, and Rs 6500 cash in their possession after both individuals were arrested.

In another similar incident, a team from the West Guwahati Police Department (WGPD) at Fatasil Ambari Police Station arrested two individuals after they were caught red-handed attempting to steal iron rods from the construction site of the Birubari Flyover.

The suspects, Biki Das (22) and Shyam Sundar Barman (27), were caught by the police. They had an autorickshaw and about 40 kilograms of stolen iron rods with them. The two are now in police custody, and the investigation is continuing. The police have said they will take strict action against the suspects.
