Assam: LGBRIMH Tezpur Holds Swachhata Pakhwada Closing Ceremony

LGBRIMH Tezpur concluded Swachhata Pakhwada with a Kayakalp certificate and award ceremony, promoting cleanliness across its sections.

TEZPUR: The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) in Tezpur organized the closing ceremony of Swachhata Pakhwada with Kayakalp certificate-distribution ceremony and award distribution for various functions conducted during April 1 to April 15, which is a part of a fortnight-long initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and sanitation activities across its sections.

It is a countrywide campaign by the Government of India, like the Clean India Mission that was initiated in 2014. It is also mentioned that the event aligns with the national Swachh Bharat Mission including Swachhata pledge taking, voluntary shramdaan, pamphlet distribution, drawing/craft making competition among patients, systematic arrangement of office files, listing of obsolete, unusual and unserviceable items, celebration of World Health Day, BMW waste segregation, collection, etc.

Distribution of Swachhata kits among underprivileged, homeless, and mentally-ill female patients, quiz and drawing competitions, etc. was organized during this period. The closing ceremony was organized by the department of Psychiatry. The programme was hosted by Dr Juhi Gupta and welcome address given by Dr Suranjan Majumdar. A brief presentation was made by Deputy Director Dr Hemanta Datta during this Swachhata Pakhwada session. Dr Jyoti Hazarika, Director of the Institute, highlighted the key points of Swachhata programme and expressed gratitude to all involved including children of campus residents and all staff.

The Kayakalp certificates to Swachhata heroes from various sections of the institute, i.e. best ward male unit ii, best ward sister Monjakim Aimol, best nursing staff Chitralekha Boro, wardkeeper (Male) Abdul Rahim, female Marami Kalita, best safaiwala Jiten Basfor, etc., and awards to drawing competition winners were distributed in the ceremony.
