Rangiya: In a dreadful and heartbreaking situation on Saturday, a man was found eating the dead body of a dog at National Highway 31 in Rangia in the state of Assam. The hungry man has recognized himself as Khagen Modak hailing from Duliajan.

As per reports, the corpse of the dog was chewed by the starving man, who generated a terrific atmosphere all over the environment, by eating the dead animal in front of the public on the National Highway.

Reports also informed that a few days back, the dog was hit and run over by a sprinting vehicle on the highway. Meanwhile, concerned people have been making an appeal to the administrative authority to intervene in the case.

In May 2020 during the COVID pandemic also, a video of a hungry man eating the flesh of a dead dog at Rajashthan's Shahpura situated on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway went rounds on social media. This heartbreaking incident occurred at a time when the entire country was witnessing lockdown which had hit the poorest of the nation and other migrants the hardest.

A citizen of India named Pradhuman Singh Naruka while driving on the highway, shouted at the man saying, "you don't have food to eat? What are you eating? You will die.", and offered the man his lunchbox and water bottle. Naruka further requested the public through the camera to share the video with the government and help the needy if anybody comes across it.

Earlier in the first week of August this year, a man in Malaysia confessed to killing and eating a puppy that he himself adopted. May Ccus, a rescuer of stray dogs, shared the news on social media platforms to expose the dog eater.
