Assam: Man Killed By Minor Son In Karbi Anglong

Diphu: In a tragic incident, a man was killed by his minor son over a petty issue in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. The incident is reported to have taken place in Ekarajan village of Klurdong in the district.

According to sources, the duo was involved in a heated argument. In a sad turn of events, the juvenile chopped off his father's neck using a machete during an exchange of blows resulting in his death. The deceased has been identified as Kamdev Basumatary. He was 45 years of age at the time of his death. 

As per reports, Basumatary had died on the spot. His body was later recovered from the place of the incident. 

The juvenile has been arrested by the Bakalia police.

In earlier news, a man allegedly stabbed a woman to death at her residence in Hukajan village in Biswanath district.

Speaking to the media, Itakhola Police Out Post, in charge (IC), Shymal Neog said, "We were informed about the incident at the midnight hours. During the investigation, we found that one lady was brutally murdered at Hukajan village last night, while a man was found lying unconscious beside her body. On recovering the bodies, we found that the man was alive, and accordingly, we shifted him to Biswanath Civil Hospital for treatment."

According to reports, the accused identified as Karan Gurju stabbed a woman and later attempted suicide at the incident spot.
