Assam: Mangaldai and Demow Celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities with Various Events

MANGALDAI: Mangaldai Mohila Kalyan Samaj - a premier organization for all round development of the underprivileged women too joined the ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities (PwD)’ Celebration at Mangaldai on December 3. In the function organized at ‘Kasturi Shishu Griha’ chaired by retired teacher Arbinda Hazarika, President of the Samaj  Rashmi Rekha Sharma in her welcome speech explained the importance and significance of the day. National Teachers Award recipient teacher Shashanka Hazarika, Child Protection Officer Gautam Saharia, District Child Protection Team worker Dulal Deka, Kank Lata Barua, Gitanjali Barua and the people of Shaloipara village also attended the celebration. In the celebration Young Divyanga Talent Jyotismita Barua was offered felicitation.

DEMOW: Under the patronage of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan Mission Demow Education Block and in association with Block Guardian Samiti, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed in Rajmao Middle English School on Tuesday. The flag was hoisted by N Devi, Headmistress of Rajmao Middle English School. A sapling was planted by Shekhar Jyoti Dowari, CRCC. In the open session, Tulan Bezbarua presided and Prasanta Dehingia anchored in the open session. Dipu Kumar Gogoi gave an objective explanation. Naranath Gohain, Block Elementary Education Officer gave the welcome speech. Akhim Barua, District Scheme Officer, Sivasagar District, and Dr. Gitali Saikia, Assistant Professor at HCDG College Nitaipukhuri, talked at the open session. At last the prizes of the competitions were given to the students which were organized among the students and the warm clothes were also given to them. In context to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a free health camp was organized by Demow Block Primary Health Centre in Rajmao Middle English School.
