
FAKIRAGRAM: A devastating fire broke out at Fakiragram market in Assam, engulfing the shop of a local businessman. The fire caused extensive damage, completely destroying a shop owned by Badal Saha and resulting in financial losses estimated in lakhs of rupees.
The timely arrival of the fire brigade prevented the blaze from spreading further. Firefighters managed to bring the situation under control, preventing a potentially larger catastrophe. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, a devastating fire that took place at Shaniboriya commercial center, Balijuri in the northern part of Jamugurihat engulfed the business establishments in the wee hours on Monday and caused a great deal of damage to the business establishments.
According to information, the fire started from an electric short circuit and within a few moments expanded to the adjoining business establishments. Nearly nine gas cylinders, which were inside the business shops, exploded as they came into contact with the fire, leading to more expansion of the fire.
Similarly, a massive fire broke out at the Pasighat vegetable daily market near IGJ Higher Secondary School and the airport area in Arunachal Pradesh's East Siang district on Tuesday, officials said.
East Siang's disaster management officer, Tsangpa Tashi, claimed that the fire broke out around 9 pm, resulting in the destruction of all vegetable and clothing sheds in the market. According to preliminary reports, the fire destroyed a total of 108 shops with a loss of around Rs. 2 crore.
