SILCHAR: In an unfortunate incident, a house was reduced to ashes last night as a massive fire broke out in a residential area of Islamabad in Cachar, Assam. Witnesses reported a sudden eruption of flames at Rahim Uddin's home, where the fire started.

Following the incident, locals promptly alerted the fire brigade; however, their response was hindered, allowing the fire to spread rapidly throughout the house. As the structure was completely consumed by the flames, locals looked on in terror.

Since the residents were not there when the tragedy occurred, fortunately, no casualties were reported. The affected families are in a state of distress due to the tragic incident. The locals have suspected the incident to be a result of a possible short-circuit, although the cause of the fire is not yet known.

In another similar incident, a massive fire ravaged Chapukhabari village in Golokganj, Dhubri district, reducing five dwellings to ashes last month in March.

The huts, belonging to Khitir Chandra Sarkar, Krishna Chandra Sarkar, Nalini Sarkar, Hemanta Kumar Rai, and Sudhir Chandra Rai, were consumed by the blaze, leaving the families homeless.

Local authorities reported that the fire broke out in the early hours of the morning, quickly engulfing the thatched-roof huts. Fire tenders rushed to the scene along with a large number of locals who helped to douse the flames.
