Voting in the first phase will be held on May 2 in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Charaideo, Sivasagar, Majuli, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur, Bishwanath, Cachar, Hailakandi, and Sribhumi districts.
The second phase, scheduled for May 7, will cover Dhubri, South Salmara, Goalpara, Bongaigaon, Barpeta, Bajali, Nalbari, Kamrup, Kamrup (Metro), Hojai, Nagaon, Morigaon, and Darrang.
A total of 1,80,36,682 voters are eligible to cast their votes at 25,007 polling stations which is 13.27% more than that in the last Panchayat Election held in December 2018. The elections will fill various positions, including gram panchayat members, presidents, and vice presidents.
The polling hours for both the phases have been fixed from 7.30 AM to 4.30 PM. The date of counting for both the polling phases will take place on May 11, from 8 AM till the completion of the counting.
The Panchayat election will be conducted with the help of ballots, as the Assam State Election Commission does not have enough EVMs to conduct the election.
