DIBRUGARH: An important meeting between Dibrugarh District administration and National Commission for Safai Karamcharis Vice-Chairperson Anjana Pawar was held at the DC conference hall. The meeting emphasized on providing all necessary facilities to improve the living standards of the sanitation workers.
Vice-Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis Anjana Pawar held a crucial meeting with the Dibrugarh District Administration, Panchayat & Rural Development, Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation, municipal bodies of Chabua, Naharkatia, and Namrup, along with the Social Welfare, Education, Labour, and other relevant departments.
The meeting focused on discussions regarding the social, economic, and educational upliftment of sanitation workers and their families. During the session, Pawar interacted with the sanitation workers, listened to their grievances, and stressed the importance of ensuring all necessary facilities to improve their quality of life.
She directed the municipal bodies and departments to provide weather-appropriate uniforms, footwear, regular health check-ups, and health insurance for sanitation workers. Additionally, she instructed the officials to raise awareness among workers about government welfare schemes and ensure their benefits reach them.
The meeting was attended by District Commissioner Bikram Kairi, Chief Executive Officer of Dibrugarh Zilla Parishad Bipul Kumar Das, officials from municipal bodies, and representatives of sanitation worker organizations.
