Assam: Meticulous Preparations Underway for Silchar Municipal Election

SILCHAR: In a crucial step toward ensuring a free and fair Silchar Municipal Corporation Election, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Norsing Bey, chaired an important meeting at the new conference hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, Cachar here on Saturday. The meeting, held with Registration Officers, was convened as part of the pre-election schedule to oversee the preparations for the publication of the electoral roll.

The session was marked by the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Election) and Executive Officer of the Silchar Municipal Board, Van Lal Limpuia Nampui, along with other key Registration Officers. The discourse of the meeting revolved around ensuring the utmost accuracy and transparency in the voter list, emphasizing the timely completion of the task as a cornerstone for a smooth electoral process.

The DDC stressed the need for seamless coordination among all registration officers and reiterated the importance of adhering strictly to the guidelines laid out for the election. The meeting reflected a strong administrative commitment to upholding democratic processes, reinforcing the district administration’s readiness to deliver a flawless and impartial municipal election, stated a press release.
