TINSUKIA: In a significant operation, a minor victim was rescued in connection with Tinsukia Police Station Case No. 22/25 under Section 137(2). Najik Hussain was apprehended from Valsad, Gujarat, in connection with the same case, assisted by the Pardi Police Station. Such cooperation between state-level law enforcement agencies in resolving cases related to the protection of children is commendable.

Meanwhile, the Railway Protection Force rescued three children loitering at the Guwahati Railway Station. All three are reportedly from the Golaghat district. The RPF took prompt action to ensure the safety of the children and handed them over to Child Line, Guwahati, for further care and support.

A month ago, Assam Police busted a human trafficking racket in Tinsukia, arresting nine people, including mastermind Rijumoni Tai, who is accused of abducting two minor girls, aged 9 and 13, for Rs 2 lakh. The girls were rescued from Itanagar and Naharlagun after they were taken from Guijan on their way back home from school.

These cases reflect the various activities that are being undertaken by law enforcement agencies to prevent child trafficking and keep vulnerable children safe. Authorities also emphasize vigilance and community involvement in the protection of children against exploitation and harm.
