GUWAHATI: An incident came to light from Assam’s Tinsukia district where a bunch of miscreants had set a vehicle on fire. The vehicle belongs to a tea garden manager and the episode took place at Raidang tea estate at around 4-5pm.

Fortunately, the manager managed to get out of the situation in a healthy condition. The incident took place on 20th of February, Monday and the tea garden manager has been identified as Jagdish Singh Phulera. The miscreant attempted the attack while Jagdish Singh Phulera was on his regular inspection at Sector 31 of the mentioned tea estate.

As per sources, the miscreants intended to kill Phulera as they set his vehicle on fire. The victim has registered an FIR regarding the incident at Assam’s Doomdooma police department.

A student body namely, The All Assam Tea Tribe Student’s Association (ATTSA) raised their voice against the matter and demanded investigation regarding the case. One of the ATTSA leader stated that, the manager was attacked in the past as well.

They student body informed that the manager was being attacked for three time and several FIRs has been registered in connection with the same. However, they alleged that the administration has not yet acted against the matter.

The concerned police department stated that, no man was hurt in yesterday’s episode, and the department has begun their investigation.

A scary episode came forth from Assam’s Gossaigaon sub division, where a senior advocate received horrific acid attack by miscreants. A group of unidentified men entered the advocate’s house on 17th of February, Friday. The incident occurred at his own residence, and the attackers had thrown acid directly on face.

The senior advocate has been identified as Abdus Samad Ahmed. The culprits entered Ahmed’s home unalarmed and threw acid at him. As per the reports, the victim is also assigned as a senior member of Gossaigaon Lawyer’s Association. As soon as the miscreants were done, they fled away from the situation in a blink of an eye.

Later, the advocate was rushed to a hospital and currently going under treatment in Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Ahmed is a resident of Padmabil village under Gossaigaon district.
