NAGAON: In a shocking incident, Bakul Hussain, a leader of the Asom Goria Jatiya Parishad, was brutally attacked by four individuals riding a four-wheeler last night. The victim Bakul Hussian is the Vice-President of the Nagaon District Committee of the minority organization.
Sources claimed that the attack occurred last night at Panikhaiti under the Nonoi Police Outpost. Bakul Hussian was returning home after closing his business establishment when four assailants, travelling in a four-wheeled vehicle, intercepted and assaulted him. The attackers also allegedly stole cash and gold ornaments from Hussian.
The police took swift action and arrested two individuals identified as Debjit Saikia and Manab Saikia, in connection with the attack. The other two accused are still at large. Bakul Hussian’s brother Bulmoni Hussian filed a complaint with the Nonoi Police Outpost this morning, sources added further.
It is reported that Bakul Hussian has been actively involved in raising awareness about the dangers of narcotics in the community. Some locals suspect that the attack might be linked to his anti-drug initiatives. The community has demanded that authorities take action against those responsible for the attack.
