Assam: Morigaon DC holds introductory interaction with media fraternity

MORIGAON: The newly appointed District Commissioner of Morigaon, Srishti Singh, on Wednesday held an introductory meeting and interactive session with members of the media fraternity of Morigaon district at the Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office. The meeting was also attended by Additional District Commissioner Rakesh Deka. On the occasion, members of the media fraternity extended a warm welcome to the newly joined district commissioner by felicitating her with a traditional phulam gamusa. 

In the course of the interaction, the media representatives highlighted several issues of public importance requiring attention. Among the matters raised were the recurring flash floods affecting different parts of the district, the rising menace of youth substance abuse, and the need for strengthening irrigation infrastructure to benefit the farming community.
