Assam: MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi distributes cheques in Boko

BOKO: Gauhati MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi distributed cheques to Namghars (traditional Vaishnavite prayer halls) located across the Boko area on Wednesday at Boko Block Development office premises in the presence of the Boko Circle Officer Dibash Bordoloi, Anjan Goswami, President, South Kamrup BJP Committee and Raju Mesh, State Executive Member of BJP. Hiranya Nath, President Boko Block BJP, said that MP Medhi distributed cheques to 78 namghars under the Assam Government’s ‘Asom Darshan’ scheme.

After that, MP Medhi went to the Boko Community Health Center/FRU where she took stock of the situation of the hospital. Boko CEC/FRU Deputy Superintendent Dr Apurba Talukdar briefed MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi about the hospital and sub-centers including seven sub-centers along the Assam- Meghalaya border. Dr Talukdar also briefed about the problems faced in the hospital and sub-centers.

It is worth mentioning that MP Medhi officially handed over an ultrasound machine, provided with support from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. In this regard, MP Medhi emphasized that after she won in the Lok Sabha election, she had visited the Boko CEC and came to know about the scarcity of the ultrasound machines leading to the sufferings of maternity patients. Therefore, MP Medhi said that she contacted the IOCL officials and on Wednesday officially handed over the machine to the Boko CHE/FRU.

Additionally, the MP distributed cheques from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to 12 individuals suffering from critical illnesses in the region. During her visit to the health center, she also held discussions with medical officers about the prevailing issues and infrastructure conditions, emphasizing the need for prompt resolutions and overall improvement. It needs mention that Hiranya Nath had taken initiatives for the Namghars and critical ill patients under the Boko BJP Block area.
