Assam: MP Dilip Saikia honoured with Sansad Ratna Award in New Delhi

MANGALDAI: Dilip Saikia, Member of Parliament from Darrang-Udalguri HPC and president of the Assam State BJP, was honoured with the prestigious “Sansad Ratna Award” for 2025, standing out as the sole recipient from Northeast India. Saikia received the award from Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, in the presence of Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, and other dignitaries at a ceremonial function held at Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi. Saikia’s name was nominated alongside sixteen other MPs by a distinguished jury panel chaired by Hansraj Gangaram Ahir.

Instituted by the Prime Point Foundation in 2010, the “Sansad Ratna Award” is widely regarded as one of the highest honours in Indian parliamentary democracy, recognizing outstanding performance and contributions by parliamentarians.
