NAGAON: The Nagaon district unit of Viswa Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged a protest against the recent violent incidents in Murshidabad, West Bengal, and demanded immediate imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal on Saturday.
Several members from the organization participated in the demonstration and raised various slogans near the district commissioner’s office, Nagaon. The demonstration was led by senior VHP leader Brajen Kakoti, Pradeep Kumar Laskar and Parthajit Das, the president and secretary of the district unit of the organization respectively.
Following the demonstration, the agitators submitted a memorandum with six key demands, including the imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal to maintain law and order, an investigation into violent incidents in Murshidabad, West Bengal, the identification and deportation of infiltrators, and a letter to the President of India, through district commissioner, Nagaon.
