HAFLONG: In protest against the mass killing of Hindus in West Bengal and with the demand that President’s rule should be imposed in Bengal immediately, the Vishva Hindu Parishad Haflong organized a protest rally from the office of the District Commissioner at Haflong on Saturday. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the President, Government of India, New Delhi, through the District Commissioner.

The memorandum maintained that the way the entire Bengal is being set ablaze in the fire of violence under the pretext of opposing the Waqf Act, Hindus are being tortured, and anti-national and anti-Hindu elements are being given a free hand to execute their conspiracies without any hindrance, it is clear that the situation in Bengal is extremely worrying. This horrific violence that started in Murshidabad is now seen spreading throughout Bengal. The government machinery has not only become inactive in front of the rioters but has also become their helper or abettor in many places. Before the situation goes out of control, the Central Government should take control and management of the administration in its hands and ensure that the anti-national and anti-Hindu elements are punished harshly for their misdeeds.

The violent protest by the Muslim mob on 11 April 2015 in the name of opposing the Waqf law was not against the government that made the law but was a violent attack on Hindus, whereas the Hindu society had no role in the making of this law, and it was a purely constitutional process. This clearly means that Waqf was just an excuse; the real aim was to make Murshidabad Hindu-free. This fanatical Jihadi mob looted and burnt more than 200 houses and commercial shops of Hindus; hundreds of Hindus were badly injured, and three citizens were brutally murdered. Dozens of women were also raped. As a result, more than 500 Hindu families had to flee from Murshidabad.

Instead of going to them and worrying and helping them, Mamata Banerjee was meeting the riot-inciting Imams, one of whom had threatened a day earlier that “If Mamata Banerjee does not support him, he will teach her a lesson.” Now, after all these facts have come to light, it is being reported that instead of providing facilities to the refugees, Mamata was conspiring to force them back to the Jihadis.

They demanded President’s rule should be imposed in Bengal immediately; the violence in Bengal should be investigated by the NIA and the culprits should be punished immediately; the law and order of Bengal should be handed over to the central security forces; Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators should be identified and expelled and the work of laying wire on the 450 km border of Bengal and Bangladesh, which was stopped by Mamata Banerjee, should be started immediately.
