Assam: Nazira celebrates Kargil Vijay Diwas with patriotic fervour

NAZIRA: Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the 26th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil War on July 26, 1999, was celebrated with great patriotic fervour across the nation. The day marks the triumph of the Indian Armed forces over Pakistan’s intrusion into Indian territory in 1999. The celebrations served as a reminder of the nation’s unity, strength, and resilience in the face of adversity. In Nazira, former soldiers gathered on the bank of the historic Bor Baruah Pond on Saturday to pay tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil War. They lit incense sticks and offered prayers, paying homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The ceremony was a solemn occasion, with the former soldiers and attendees observing a moment of silence in respect for the martyrs.
