26th Kargil Vijay Diwas observed in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam

DIBRUGARH: The 26th Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed at Namsai in Arunachal Pradesh on Saturday. The programme was organized by Assam Rifles and Arunachal University of Studies in Multipurpose Hall in Namsai.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. Gen. KT Parnaik was present as chief guest in the programme.

Parnaik remembered the brave soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for the country.

Kargil war veteran Naik Digender Singh, MVS, SM and Naik Prahlad Singh were present at the programme.

“Today, we remember our brave solder, who had sacrificed their lives for the country. We have fought Kargil war together and know how our soldier had fought the war and won. I was hit with 18 bullets,” said Naik Digender Singh.

Arunachal Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein also paid tribute to the soldiers who had sacrifice their lives for the nation.

Prof Ajey Jha, vice-chancellor of Arunachal University Studies, Namsai MLA Zingnu Namchoom, Namsai DC C.R. Khampa, Brig Surabjit Singh, 25 sector Assam Rifles among others were present during the programme.

NAZIRA: Kargil Vijay Diwas, commemorating the 26th anniversary of India’s victory in the Kargil War, was celebrated with great patriotic fervour across the nation. The day marks the triumph of the Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan’s intrusion into Indian territory in 1999. The celebrations served as a reminder of the nation’s unity, strength, and resilience in the face of adversity. As India continues to honour the valour of its soldiers, Kargil Vijay Diwas stands as a testament to the country’s unwavering commitment to protecting its sovereignty and integrity.

In Nazira, former soldiers gathered on the bank of historic Borbaruah Pond to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War. They lit incense sticks and offered prayers; paying homage to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

The ceremony was a solemn occasion, with the former soldiers and attendees observing a moment of silence in respect for the martyrs. The event served as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families, and the nation’s gratitude for their bravery.
