SIVASAGAR: Along with other parts of the state, Sivasagar observed the 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose with great enthusiasm. The event, jointly organized by the Sivasagar District Bengali Federation and the Sivasagar Sanmilita Byabasayee Santha, was held at the Dolmukh Chariali.
The ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp by former police officer Bhabadhar Dutta, Professor Dr Simanta Baruah, businessman Bakul Borthakur, Federation President Paban Sarkar, and Headmaster Ramchandra Tanti among others. Several speakers highlighted the values and vision of Netaji’s life, inspiring the audience with their insightful discussions. The event also featured patriotic songs performed by Ashima Baruah and child artiste Ropsa Ghosh. The ceremony was hosted by academic and columnist Samsul Barik.
