MANGALDAI: Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya (PDUAM) Dalgaon organized a highly successful two-day national seminar titled ‘The Influence of Artificial Intelligence in Shaping Political Behavior of Citizens’ on February 10 and 11. The event, sponsored by ICSSR-NERC, was supported by Canara Bank and several other organizations.
The offline session, held yesterday, was inaugurated with a thought-provoking keynote address by Prof Akhil Ranjan Dutta, who emphasized the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping political landscapes and public behaviour. Distinguished academicians Prof Utpal Bhattacharya of Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, Prof Manoj Kumar Deka, Academic Head of Assam Skill University, Mangaldai, Prof Jyoti Raj Pathak of KBVSASU, Nalbari, Dr Sumana Das from B Borooah College, and Dr Limpon Borah, Academic Registrar of Madhavdeb University, Lakhimpur, attended the seminar as resource persons.
The first day’s session was chaired by Dr Sachindra Saharia, Retired Associate Professor of Mangaldoi College, and Dr Mousumi Saha Kalita, Principal of Kharupetia College. The seminar also welcomed esteemed invited guests, including Dr Ranjita Bhattacharya, Retired Associate Professor of Handique Girls College, and Dr Indrani Kalita, Assistant Professor at KKHSOU, who shared their valuable insights during the event.
On the second day, the online session was graced by Dr Dinesh Baishya, renowned educationist and intellectual, who delivered the keynote address, shedding light on AI’s transformative potential in politics, defence & military affairs. Dr Diganta Baruah, DSP of Marigaon District, also attended the seminar as a resource person.
The seminar saw the presentation of 50 research papers from across the country, exploring various facets of AI and political behaviour. Dr Kumar Chandan Jyoti was the Convener of the seminar while Dr Lakhi Prasad Hazarika, Principal of the college, was the Chief Patron of the Seminar.
