Assam: Police arrest 7 individuals during drive against child marriage in Bajali

In a massive crackdown against child marriage, police in Bajali conducted an operation, leading to the arrest of seven individuals accused of marrying underage girls.

Bajali: In a massive crackdown against child marriage, police in Bajali conducted an operation, leading to the arrest of seven individuals accused of marrying underage girls.  The Sarupeta Police spearheaded the crackdown as part of an intensified campaign aimed at eradicating the social menace of child marriages

Additional Superintendent of Police, Trinayan Bhuyan, lauded the operation and reiterated the district’s commitment to enforcing laws against such unlawful practices.  The accused have been identified as San Mia, Basir Khan, Afaz Uddin, Saheb Ali, Baharul Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, and Azizur Haque.

All seven accused are currently in custody at the Sarupeta outpost. Authorities have assured that stringent legal actions will follow as investigations progress.
