Assam Police Arrests 3 Frauds In Pathsala, Recovers ATM Cards, Gold Jewellery

The frauds were involved in several cases of fraud and were arrested after multiple complaints were lodged by the victims.

Pathsala: The Balaji Police launched an operation and arrested 3 frauds who were accused of multiple crimes including theft.

The incident took place at Pathsala in the district of Balaji in Assam.

Several ATM cards, cash, gold jewellery were recovered from the trio by the Balaji police. A stolen four-wheeler car bearing Registration No. AS01-ET-4033 was also recovered by the police from the possession of the frauds near the HDFC and AXIS banks at Pathsala.

The names of the three frauds are Sirajul Haque, Rafikul Islam and Ramesh Ali.

The Superintendent of Balaji Police, Dharmendra Kumar Das said, "The police after receiving information and complaints from the victims became alert and were able to arrest the three culprits involved in such anti-social activities."

According to the police, the frauds had replaced the ATM card of an old man and later withdrew an amount of Rs. 1 lakh from his bank account. The old man later filed a complaint at the police station.

The Balaji SP further said, "They divert the minds of innocent people to loot money."

As per the information given by the police, the frauds replace the ATM cards of people with similar ones that they possess. The frauds often target people who seek help from other people in ATM kiosks.

After proper interrogation, the culprits admitted to their crimes and said that they have been active in Pathsala and other neighbouring areas.
