Guwahati Hit & Run Case: Doctor In Question Informed Assam DGP About Accused's Suicidal Tendency

Guwahati: After 12 hours of interrogation, GNRC's senior doctor Navanil Baruah left Dispur police station.

Sources from police said that Dr Navanil Baruah was interrogated more than 12 hours and was asked him to appear before the police tomorrow again.

Police sources said that he has made startling revelation that he had consulted with Director General of Assam Police Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta before shifting Rajkanya Barua to ICU.
Earlier, after GNRC's senior doctor Dr Navanil Baruah was served notice by police for allegedly trying to save Rajkanya Baruah by admitting her to the ICU, the doctor now claims that he had no knowledge of who the model was and says that he was not trying to save her.
Denying all allegations, the doctor said, "I didn't even know her. I was not trying to save her." Dr Navanil Baruah made those statements while addressing the media at the Dispur Police Station.
Dr Navanil Baruah was later called in for questioning by the Dispur Police for allegedly providing fake medical reports to Rajkanya Baruah and admitting her to the hospital without any severe health issue.
Model Rajkanya Baruah who purportedly thrashed nine PWD workers last week in a condition of intoxicated condition, was sent to 14-day to jail custody by the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM). The court in it order has said that she will be lodged in Guwahati central jail and no VIP treatment would be provided to her. The state police have booked her under Sections 279, 294, 388 and 353 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
