Assam Police Rescue Two Individuals Held In Changlang After Six Days

CHANGLANG: Sankar Borah, along with two vehicles and another person, was rescued following a distress call to DGP Assam Police, Harmeet Singh, IPS, after being confined in Arunachal's Changlang for six days.

Borah contacted the DGP seeking immediate assistance on Tuesday afternoon. Acting swiftly, the DGP alerted Dibrugarh SP V.V. Rakesh Reddy, IPS, who immediately took action. By evening, their ordeal came to an end when the complainant and another individual were successfully rescued along with the two vehicles. They have safely returned to Dibrugarh in Assam.

Similarly, a team from the Assam Police successfully rescued two teenage girls who were allegedly abducted from Suagpur in Baksa district on February 5. The girls were found held captive in an abandoned railway quarter located in Mazbat, Udalguri, following a two-day search operation.

The rescue mission was launched after the police received a complaint from the families of the missing girls when the teenagers did not return home on the evening of February 5. Using mobile location data, the police raided the abandoned railway quarter and recovered the girls successfully.

Meanwhile, an East Guwahati Police Department team rescued two girls who had been reported missing on January 24, 2025. The duo was found loitering on GS Road just a day after going missing.
