Assam: Prime Accused In Birubari Rape Case Arrested

GUWAHATI: Guwahati police successfully apprehended a culprit who is under the charges of raping a 13 year old minor girl in the cuty. The episode took place in Guwahati's Birubari area. The man has been identified as Diganta Das and was nabbed from Jalukbari area in the morning hours of 11th February, Saturday. 

After committing the heinous crime, Das was escaping from the law, however, he got caught. Diganta Das is currently 49 years old, and the victim girl was a tenant in his residence, where she lived with her family. 

The incident took place earlier this week, when the accused molested the girl physically in the rented space. She was alone at the time of incident, as her parents were outside. The gruesome incident happened at Nizorapara area located in Guwahati's Birubari. As soon as the girl informed her parents about the happening, they immediately lodged a complaint against their landlord, Diganta Das.

As per sources, Das warned them and asked to get out of the house after knowing about the complaint against him. Following the FIR, a team of police initiated an investigation and carried on the search for the accused. A horrifying matter came to light on 5th of February, Sunday, from Assam's Dibrugarh district.

Police informed that two individuals have been nabbed for involvement in an alleged gang rape of a minor girl. The accused has been identified by the officials as, Safar Ali and Bhaijaan Ali. The minor girl was recovered in an unconscious state near Athabari tea garden, stated the SP of Dibrugarh, Shwetank Mishra.

As per sources, the accused duo will be charged under IPC section 376 of the POSCO Act of 2012. The SP further informed that, the victim was tied up with a rope, and it has been suspected that she was gang raped by the culprits. According to the reports, the minor girl was missing since 3rd of February.

The family members of the minor girl informed police that, the victim was kidnapped by two people and she was missing for two days. They claimed that, the 14 year old was raped by the duo for multiple times, during this phase. As soon as a complaint was filed by the family, concerned department initiated the search and nabbed the evil headed.
