MANGALDAI: On the occasion of Independence Day, President of India, Draupadi Murmu, extended a prestigious invitation to Dipti Saharia, a progressive rural woman agripreneur from Darrang district, to attend an ‘At Home’ reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi on August 15 at 6:00 PM.
The invitation was formally presented to Dipti Saharia at her residence in Gariapara village, Jaljali, by Inspector of Posts, Mangaldai Binanda Choudhury, accompanied by Marketing Executive Pulak Nath and Postman Satya Dhar Kalita.
Dipti Saharia, daughter of the Late rural farmer Jogen Saharia, serves as the Managing Director of Sira Seuj Women Farmer Producer Company. She has been a driving force in empowering rural women in agriculture by providing them with seeds, farm equipment, and pesticides at subsidized rates. Her dedication to uplifting rural communities through sustainable agricultural practices has earned her this remarkable recognition.
The Rashtrapati Bhavan has invited eight rural farmers from across eight states to this distinguished event to honour their contributions to Indian agriculture. Dipti Saharia is the sole representative from Assam, making her achievement particularly noteworthy.
The Mangaldai Media Circle extended heartfelt congratulations to Dipti Saharia for her inspiring journey from a quiet village in Darrang district to the esteemed halls of Rashtrapati Bhavan.
