BOKAKHAT: A large python was spotted on Sunday morning on the road leading to Bormona gaon near the township area of the Numaligarh Refinery. The python was seen devouring a domestic animal.

The snake, approximately 12 feet long and weighing around 35 kilograms, was unable to move after consuming the animal. Forest officials from the Numaligarh Range office arrived and successfully rescued the python. It was later released in the forested area of Deo Pahar.

Due to flooding from the Kaliyni river, the animal had taken shelter on the roadside. The surrounding urban and Deo Pahar areas are known to be common refuge zones for many animals.
