Assam: Raijor Dal Hears All Stakeholders on Day 2 of State Convention

Moran: On the second day of the three-day state convention, the recently formed regional political party of Assam, Raijor Dal met with stakeholders from different sections of the society, eminent personalities of different tribes and communities of Assam, educationists and intellectuals to get their feedback and hear from them issues that the party needs to focus on in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the members of the party conducted a cleanliness drive and a tree plantation drive in Moran, Dibrugarh. The three-day convention is going on at the Mahaveer Lachit Borphukan playground in Notun Nagar area of Moran.

The three-day state convention of Raijor Dal has begun on Thursday (January 7)at Moran, Dibrugarh where Noted filmmaker Padma Bhushan Jahnu Baruah hoisted the party's flag and everyone paid tribute to the five martyrs of anti-CAA agitation in Assam- Sam Stafford, IshwarNayak, Dipanjal Das, Dwijendra Panging and Abdul Alim.

The morning session of the convention was attended by Actor Zerifa Wahid, Shrinkhal Chaliha, leader of Bir Lachit Sena, advocate Arup Barbora, all members of Raijor Dal.

Raijor Dol was officially launched by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) on October 2, 2020, with an aim to transform and the socio-economic scene of Assam and bring in change and development in the state. The party promises a better tomorrow. The official slogan of the party is chosen as "think globally, act locally."

The party was hoping that jailed KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi will be released on Thursday, however, the news about Guwahati High Court rejects bail plea of the jailed KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi the mood at the convention turned damp. 

Reacting on the news of the rejection of Akhil Gogoi's bail plea Zerifa Wahid said that by keeping Gogoi behind bars, the government cannot put a lid on the ideology and belief of Akhil Gogoi, his supporters and well-wishers.
