Haflong: Retired Divisional Forest Officer Hiranmoy Bathari left for his heavenly abode at the age of 72 on Monday evening at Holy Spirit Hospital at around 8:30 pm. Late Bathari spearheaded several Dimasa organizations. He was the present president of Sibarai Bismai Bosong, uniting Dimasas in Hinduism. He also served as the president of Kalyan Ashram Dima Hasao West. Late Bathari retired from his post as DFO in 2013. His mortal remains were cremated at Town Raji Dimasa crematorium near Kalibari on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife, three sons, daughters-in-law, grandsons, granddaughters, and countless admirers. People from all walks of life gathered at his Haflong home to bid adieu to the departed soul with love and respect. Bathari was one of the prominent figures of Dima Hasao, highly popular and revered by all communities, irrespective of caste, creed, and religion.
