SILCHAR: An online recruitment drive for awareness among youths and identification of the eligible ones among them was carried out by Assam Rifles in the villages of Kaipundai, Tatbung, Rangekkulang and Muktakhal in the district of Tamenlong of Manipur. Counselling was also arranged for pre recruitment process.
Considering the prevalence of COVID-19 pandemic, the Kadamtala Battalion reached out to 21 students of these villages through video-conferencing. The participants were given an overview of recruitment procedure, various trades, physique status, medical and academic criteria for entry and documentation aspects.
Particular stress was laid on motivating young students for disseminating information to larger groups on community and institution basis. School and college students almost shut at homes have expressed their happiness at this arrangement for their benefit and prospect of jobs, so essential for them in the present crisis. It is this very fact that Assam Rifles has taken up a number of measures in their interest.
