JAMUGURIHAT: Assam Rifles organized a two-day Skill Development Workshop for women on April 27 and 28 at Lokra, stated a press release. The event aimed to empower local women with vocational skills to become economically self-reliant. On the first day, participants received hands-on training in candle-making while the second day focused on bamboo craft. A total of 30 women enthusiastically participated in the workshop. The training sessions were designed to encourage creativity and provide practical knowledge that would help participants generate income through small-scale ventures. All necessary materials were provided by Assam Rifles, and the sessions were conducted under the guidance of skilled trainers. This initiative reflects Assam Rifles’ ongoing commitment to community outreach and women empowerment in the North East.
