Assam: School Bus Accident in Umrongso Kills One Student, Injures 15

School bus carrying students of Saraswati Vidyamandir, Garampani High School, and Sacred Heart met with an accident in area of Umrongso, killing one student and injuring at least 15.

HAFLONG: In an unfortunate incident, a school bus carrying students of Saraswati Vidyamandir, Garampani High School, and Sacred Heart met with an accident today in front of the NECEM cements factory in the 19 km area of Umrongso, killing one student and injuring at least 15.

The accident occurred 7 km from Umrongso town at around 7.30 am when the bus, sponsored by Dalmia Cement Pvt Ltd, bearing registration number AS-08C-2292, jumped out of the road. All the injured students were rushed to the Umrangso Community Health centre.

Till the filing of this report, 10 injured students had arrived in the hospital and Dalimir Ronghangpi of Sacred Heart School succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.
