DOOMDOOMA: Assam Science Society (ASS), Doomdooma Branch conducted two three day-long summer mathematics and science workshops for students of Class 9 and 10 from July 5 to July 7 at Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya and Talap Balibazar Secondary School respectively.
Dr Meena Devi Baruah, President, Assam Science Society, Doomdooma Branch, inaugurated the workshops held at these two schools on July 5, while the resource persons gave training to the students on the current pattern of question papers and content of mathematics and science.
Inspector of Schools, Tinsukia district circle, by a circular No. SSA/TSK/ Gen.Corres/1487/22 dated June 30, 2025, had earlier requested the head of the institutions to send their students to the workshops of these two schools as per their convenience of location.
The workshops were attended by the Principal, Talap Balibazar Secondary School, Bhairab Moran, and Principal of Doomdooma Jatiya Vidyalaya (DJV) Surabhi Moran, General Secretary of ASS, Doomdooma branch and Executive Member of ASS Dhiren Deka, Life Member and President DJV Arjun Baruah, and Life Member and senior journalist Abhijit Khataniar.
Nandita Chakraborty Gogoi, Kalpajyoti Bora, Subrata Chakraborty, Shubhashish Mallick, and Arati Sarkar Sonowal imparted training to the students as resource persons while Runumoni Dutta Bhuyan, Deepali Saikia, and Utpal Pujari conducted the workshops as co-ordinators.
More than 150 students belonging to twelve neighbouring schools of Doomdooma, Talap, and Saikhowa areas besides some school teachers attended the workshop. The workshops came to an end on Monday.
