Morigaon: Shikhi Kakati, a three-standard student of Mahendra Kandali Academy, Morigaon, excelled at the national level by receiving the ‘Indian Legacy Award’ presented by the WELRED Foundation,’ a non-profit organization of West Bengal, and the ‘Rastra Seva Samman’ and ‘Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam ‘Bharatiya Ratna Award’ presented by ‘The Fair Vision Foundation,’ Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and ‘Worthy Wellness Foundation,’ Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, under the Govt. of India, respectively. The organizations awarded Shikhi Kakati on February 8, 2025, and February 9, 2025.
She is the daughter of poet Mantu Kr. Nath and Junmoni Kakati of Morigaon. Shikhi Kakati started her artistic career at 5 years old. Since then, she has been showing excellent performances in various cultural events. Upon her best performances, the organizations presented her the awards. She is also learning the Satriya dance and acting under “Morigaon Sankari Sangeet Vidalaya.”. Besides Shikhi, Kakati is also learning acting in the premier drama group ‘Sashipat,’ Morigaon.
