GUWAHATI: During the second day of the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, three more key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed that further enriched the investment portfolio of Assam. These MoUs cover major sectors like healthcare, education, energy and manufacturing, following on from the Rs. 90,000 crore investment announcements made on the first day.

Among the significant commitments, Global Health Ltd. (Medanta) committed Rs. 500 crore investment to set up a multi-specialty hospital in Assam, fulfilling key healthcare infrastructure requirements. The hospital is likely to enhance access to healthcare for the locals and generate many employment opportunities in the area.

In addition, two non-fiscal agreements were signed: one between ITE Education Service and Assam Skill University to boost vocational training and skill development, and the other among OIL India, the Skill Development Department, and ITE Education Service, with the focus on technical and vocational education training. These programs are significant in developing a skilled workforce that can keep pace with the needs of upcoming industries in Assam.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma thanked the industry fraternity for their continued support as the summit is making Assam a thriving investment destination in Northeast India. The deliberations and partnerships underway will bring in additional investments, boosting economic growth and improving the quality of life of citizens.
