DIBRUGARH: Sita Ram Kanoi Conference Hall at Anandalaya in Dibrugarh was inaugurated by A Balakrishna, President of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari, on Saturday. The inauguration was attended by esteemed members of the Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation, including trustees CA Jyoti Kanoi and Lalita Kanoi, along with prominent figures from the community.
The ceremony commenced with A Balakrishna lighting a lamp before the statue of Swami Vivekananda, symbolizing the spirit of enlightenment and service. Following this, he officially inaugurated the Conference Hall, which honours the legacy of Sita Ram Kanoi. During the event, CA Jyoti Kanoi and Lalita Kanoi extended a warm welcome to A Balakrishna, expressing their gratitude for his presence.
In his address, Balakrishna highlighted the longstanding dedication of CA Jyoti Kanoi to Vivekananda Kendra, emphasizing his generous contribution to the establishment of the Conference Hall in memory of his father Sita Ram Kanoi. The management officials of Anandalaya took the opportunity to honour the trustees of the Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation for their ongoing commitment to social welfare.
Sharing his insights, CA Jyoti Kanoi reflected on the important role Vivekananda Kendra plays in strengthening the nation by providing education and instilling values and cultural awareness among the youth, particularly in remote rural areas. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude for being associated with such a noble institution and spoke about the significance of giving back to society in memory of his father.
Lalita Kanoi expressed her joy, stating that this day holds great significance for her family as they honour their elders through their contributions. She acknowledged the support of her sons and daughters-in-law in this philanthropic endeavour.
The event was conducted by Rajkumar Agarwal, Treasurer of Anandalaya. The Kanoi family has a long history of charitable work through the Jyoti Lalita Kanoi Foundation.
