SIVASAGAR: The Sivasagar Municipal Board (SMB), known for being the second-largest revenue-earning municipality in the state, has recently initiated several public welfare projects. Under the leadership of Executive Officer Debabrata Sharma, the SMB launched a dustbin distribution drive on Friday, targeting government schools and colleges within the town and nearby areas.
As part of the initiative, adequate numbers of waste disposal dustbins were distributed to several educational institutions in the town. In addition, awareness sessions were conducted for students, focusing on the segregation of dry and wet waste, and the importance of proper waste management.
Members of the Sivasagar Municipal Board, including Executive Officer Debabrata Sharma, Chairperson Mrinalini Konwer, Vice-Chairperson Sanjib Bora and several other officials like Pratiksha Choudhury were attended the event.
Additionally, the municipal board announced plans to distribute a total of 600 dustbins across government schools and colleges in the region in the coming days.
