
Pathsala: Swahid Madan Rauta sub divisional civil hospital in Pathsala, Bajali district, has successfully treated cases of venomous snakebites. Under the leadership of Dr. Kulen Talukdar, Dr. Kulen Kakoti, Dr. Himangshu Kalita, Dr. Deendayal Singh, and Dr. Bhavesh Das, the medical team at the hospital recently provided antivenom treatment and cured two patients—Pallabi Das and Nazrul Khan —who were bitten by venomous snakes. According to reports, Nazrul Khan, a resident of Borgaghol village in Barpeta district, was bitten by a venomous snake at his home. He soon began to show symptoms of severe poisoning and was quickly taken to the hospital. After confirming the snakebite, Dr. Kulen Talukdar, along with Dr. Kulen Kakoti and Dr. Himangshu Kalita, initiated antivenom treatment and successfully brought the patient back to health. The patient was kept under observation following the administration of the antivenom.
Similarly, Pallabi Das, a woman from Hajua village in Baksa district, was also bitten by a venomous snake at night in her home. She was rushed to the hospital, where Dr. Deendayal Singh and Dr. Bhavesh Das promptly began antivenom treatment and successfully cured her. It is noteworthy that venomous snakes are highly prevalent in Bajali district and its surrounding areas, and snakebites can lead to multiple fatalities each year. However, with the availability of snakebite treatment at Swahid Madan Rauta sub divisional civil hospital, Pathsala, timely care and recovery are now possible. The hospital’s medical team has instilled hope among the people of Bajali by effectively curing snakebite victims through antivenom administration.
Public enthusiasm has grown since the hospital began offering antivenom treatment. Last year, this snakebite treatment center successfully treated two patients in July and one in October—a total of three recoveries. The hospital authorities have urged residents of Bajali district to immediately seek treatment at Swahid Madan Rauta sub divisional civil hospital without delay in case of snakebite incidents, stated a press release.
