Assam: Sonowal Kachari Sahitya Sabha Celebrates 8 Years of Cultural Service

The Sonowal Kachari Sahitya Sabha celebrates its 8th Foundation Day today, on 13th May. Since its inception in 2017, the Sabha has been instrumental in preserving and promoting the cultural and literary heritage of the Sonowal Kachari community.

Over the past eight years, the Sabha has made significant contributions to the development of Assamese and indigenous literatures, fostering a greater appreciation of the region’s diverse traditions. It continues to play a vital role in supporting local writers, promoting linguistic identity, and encouraging scholarly engagement with the community’s heritage.

"On the occasion of the foundation day of Sonowal Kachari Sahitya Sabha, HCM Dr. @himantabiswa extends his heartfelt wishes. HCM wishes the Sonowal Kachari Sahitya Sabha continued success in preserving and promoting the rich cultural and literary heritage of the Sonowal Kachari community," Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated in his official handle X.

Meanwhile, under the patronage of the Purbanchal Tai Sahitya Sabha Sivasagar district committee and in association with the Demow branch committee and people, the Purbanchal Tai Sahitya Sabha 44th Kendriya Foundation Day was organized in Demow Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Building on April 8. The event started with the Jasengfa programme and after that, the flag was hoisted by Atul Phukan, President of Purbanchal Tai Sahitya Sabha.
