SILCHAR: Despite both Union and State Governments’ stringent vigil at all the Indo-Bangla border points, attempts of illegal infiltration from the neighbouring country do not seem to stop. Sribhumi police on Monday night foiled an attempt of infiltration and arrested two Bangladeshi nationals. They were identified as Muhida Bibi and Muhammad Kauser. Subsequently they were successfully pushed back to their homeland. The authorities remain vigilant against illegal crossings, reinforcing security measures to curb unauthorized entry. Earlier on January 28, Assam Police had successfully arrested two illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators near the Indo-Bangladesh border and ensured their immediate return across the border. The individuals, identified as Md Zulmat Ali and Md Sakil, were intercepted by Assam Police during routine border patrols.
Meanwhile commending the swift action, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Maintaining strict vigil along the international border, @assampolice apprehended two illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators near the border and promptly pushed them back.”
