BOKAKHAT: In the Dusutimukh area under the Khumtai Revenue Circle of Golaghat district, a man-eating tiger was killed on May 23 by miscreants who then mutilated its body and took away its tail, skin, legs, and teeth. Forest officials and police later arrived at the scene and sent the tiger’s carcass to Golaghat for a post-mortem examination.

The accused not only killed the tiger but also removed and took various body parts, including the skin, teeth, tail, and legs. In response to the incident, Dergaon police and the forest department filed two separate cases and arrested three individuals suspected of involvement in the crime. All three were detained on the same day of the incident. During police interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime.

Under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police of Golaghat district, the police launched a series of operations across various locations in Dusutimukh and successfully recovered the tiger’s tail, skin, teeth, and other body parts. It is reported that over a hundred people had surrounded and killed the tiger, which had allegedly consumed a human.
