GORESWAR: The ceremonial distribution of Mega DBT 2024 was organized by the District Administration of Tamulpur at Gopal Than Kachubari village, benefiting a total of 4689 beneficiaries in the district.
The gathering, which saw more than 3000 attendees, included flood-affected beneficiaries and seed capital beneficiaries. During the ceremony, dummy cheques were distributed by Minister for Sports & Youth Welfare Nandita Gorlosa to 10 beneficiaries whose houses had been fully damaged by floodsand to 8 beneficiaries under the Seed Capital scheme.
In addition to the distribution ceremony, a street play, Xanghat, aimed at mitigating human-elephant conflict, was performed by the Uduppi Group of artisans. The street play was presented under the umbrella of DDMA Tamulpur, in collaboration with ASDMA.
The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will be credited to the selected 4689 beneficiaries, ensuring immediate relief and support for those affected by natural disasters and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
MLA, Tamulpur LAC Jolen Daimary, MCLA EM Ranendra Narzary, Hemanta Kr Rabha, and District Commissioner Pankaj Chakravorty attended the programme among other dignitaries.
