Silchar : Pledging honesty and utmost dedication, the newly-appointed district BJP presidents of Cachar, Sribhumi and Hailakandi took the baton from their respective predecessors. Rupam Saha, the new president of the Cachar BJP, after taking the charge from Bimalendu Roy, said, his priority would be a comfortable victory of the party in the ensuing Panchayat and then the Silchar municipality corporation elections. Saha assured that he would maintain utmost clarity and transparency so that nobody could point finger against him. Bimalendu Roy, whose term as the district president witnessed massive electoral success for the party, said, nobody could accuse him of any malpractice or dishonesty. Minister Kausik Rai, MLA Mihir Kanti Shome hoped that the new president would be able to steer the party in the coming days like his predecessor.
In Sribhumi, Sanjib Banik took the charge from the outgoing president Subrata Bhattacharjee. Banik said, he would function with the help of advice and guidance from Minister Krishnendu Paul, MPs Mission Ranjan Das and Kripanath Mallah as well as from Subrata Bhattacharjee. The outgoing president assured Banik of all cooperation.
In Hailakandi, the Municipality chairman Kalyan Goswami had been appointed as the new district president. Goswami took charge from the outgoing president Swapan Bhattacharjee.
