TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia Bar Association expressed deep anguish and unequivocal condemnation of the brutal assault that claimed 26 innocent people in tragic and shocking incident in Pahalgam in a meeting held with Pramod Kr Bora in the chair. A press release issued by the Bar stated that the reprehensible and premeditated attack allegedly orchestrated from across the border was an assault not only on the peace loving citizens but on the very fabric of India’s democracy and pluralistic identity. This targeted nature of the attack particularly against the member of Hindu community appears aimed at inciting communal tension nationwide, the release state adding further that the Bar urged the legal fraternity, civil society and all stakeholders to remain vigilant, compassionate and united in defending the values that define our Republic.
The International Human Rights Council, Tinsukia District Committee also strongly condemned the act which was intended to divide India on religious grounds. L. Ratan Singh, Tinsukia District Secretary called for the unity among all to demonstrate the strength of our solidarity. While expressing deep condolences to the family members of slain brave hearts, Ratan Singh urged the Government of India to take strict and swift action to eliminate Pakistani terrorists completely.
