DIBRUGARH: Spear Corps warriors celebrated the spirit of Rongali Bihu with local communities at Phillobari and Margherita in Tinsukia district, Assam on Tuesday. The events brought together over 350 residents in a colourful blend of tradition, joy, and civil-military camaraderie.
At Phillobari, the celebration was themed ‘Gratitude for Harvest, Community, and the Start of New Beginnings’ and featured vibrant Bihu dancea and music performances by school students and local youth. The event fostered cultural pride, youth engagement, and inclusivity, with enthusiastic participation from schools, women’s groups, and artisans.
At Margherita, a special Bihu interaction was held with villagers from Malugaon, Jharna Basti, Ledo Market, and nearby areas. The gathering served as a platform to share the cultural heritage of Assam and deepen trust between the Indian Army and the local populace. A tea party followed, adding warmth to the festive exchange.
These celebrations reaffirm the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to cultural preservation, community development, and unity, while effectively countering divisive narratives propagated by separatist elements.
