BOKAKHAT: In the midst of preparations for the Assembly election, toll gate fees have once again been increased in the state. The simultaneous hike at seven toll gates has triggered strong reactions among the general public. Transport fares have already risen from Rs 5 to Rs 35, placing an additional financial burden on people.
This increase has been implemented at several important toll gates across the state, including Madanpur toll gate in Nagaon, Nagijan Ghat toll gate in Kamrup district, Chulunga toll gate, Rangamati toll gate in Golaghat district, and Doboka toll gate, among others. Residents of areas such as Dergaon, Badulipar, Rangamati, and Bongaon in Golaghat district have strongly opposed the toll hike.
