GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Traffic Police has issued traffic regulations for National Highway 27 in connection with the Guwahati Marathon, scheduled for Sunday (February 9) at Sarusajai Sports Complex. The marathon will take place along the stretch between the endpoint of the Basistha flyover (Khanapara side) and the endpoint of the Garchuk flyover (Jalukbari side) on NH-27.

To ensure smooth traffic movement, regulations will be enforced on NH-27 starting from 3:00 AM. These measures will facilitate the free passage of all vehicles, including emergency services such as ambulances and fire tenders. The regulations have been implemented with the safety of the general public in mind.

According to the travel advisory, vehicles traveling from the Khanapara side towards the Jalukbari side will continue to use their designated carriageway on NH-27. Vehicles using the service lane from Khanapara towards Jalukbari will be diverted to the main carriageway of NH-27 at the approach of Beharbari Flyover (opposite Brahmaputra Bazar).

Vehicles traveling from Jalukbari towards Khanapara will follow their normal carriageway on NH-27 until the approach of the Gorchuk Flyover, where they will be diverted onto the Service Road. This diversion will remain in effect up to the Lokhra Chariali under-bridge, from where vehicles will be redirected towards Khanapara via the service lane on the southern side, opposite Sarusajai Sports Complex, extending up to the Beharbari Flyover under-bridge.

From the Beharbari Flyover under-bridge, vehicles will be further redirected onto the service lane on the northern side, from Beharbari towards Khanapara. The diversion will continue up to the endpoint of the Basistha Flyover, where vehicles will merge back onto the main carriageway of NH-27.

Additionally, the entire service road on both sides of NH-27, from Gorchuk to Koinadhora, will be designated as a No Parking zone. Vehicles will not be permitted to use the service lane in the opposite direction of normal traffic flow. However, emergency vehicles will be exempt from these restrictions.
