Assam: Two caught for pilferage of crude oil in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The pilferage of crude oil from Oil India pipelines has continued unabated in Tinsukia district despite strong vigil by security agencies. The Langkashi Police in Tinsukia district today morning, after a hot chase, intercepted a Tata Yodha vehicle bearing number AS 02 CC 7389 and seized 12 barrels of pilfered crude oil near Makum and nabbed 2 persons identified as Pranab Gohain and Amarjyoti Neog of Barekuri. According to Dhruba Jyoti Sarma, Officer-in-Charge Langkhasi PS, the captured vehicle carrying the crude oil was coming from Dhulijan near Makum.
